Education Programs for Adults and Families

The Heritage Center Museum and the Heritage Center of Lancaster County are dedicated to the concept of lifelong learning, recognizing that people of all ages benefit from museums and their collections.

Our programs for adults include lectures, bus trips to other regional museums and gardens, intensive workshops resulting in the production of a craft and regular demonstrations in the Quilt & Textile Museum.  Read about our new family walking tour below!!

New Family Walking Tour

Meet four fictional families who could have called Lancaster home, each with their own time period.  Visit the places where each family may have lived, worked, socialized and gone to school. Engage in the issues that were on their minds.  Do all of this for $1.00, tax included.

The Heritage Center's new walking tour is actually four tours in one booklet.  With four different time periods and four families, there's something for everyone.

Perfectly designed for families, the tours provide information about each historic site and then ask visitors to look for things on or around the site and to think about what was going on at each place.  Whether you are visiting Lancaster for the first time or a life-long resident, you will enjoy this tour and learn a few new things about the city.

The tour booklet is available at the Heritage Center Museum Store (7 West King Street) and the Quilt & Textile Museum Store (37 N. Market Street).  They also can be purchased at Isaac's Deli, downtown location (25 N. Queen Street).
